West Ham are facing competition from Everton, AS Roma and Newcastle United in the race to sign Jesse Lingard. A recent report from Mirror has offered an update on the future of Jesse Lingard. The Manchester United star has recently confirmed his exit from Old Trafford, writing a heartfelt farewell message after leaving his boyhood club. Lingard is now looking forward to the next step in his career, and the playmaker has no shortage of suitors, it seems.

West Ham are believed to be the frontrunners in the race to sign Lingard, who is available as a free agent this summer. But the Hammers could face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Everton. United fans really aren’t ecstatic about being in either European competition next season so whatever happens against Palace they will not care. But Rangnick has one move left that could gain him some goodwill back and that is by playing some youth in the final game of the year. United have a number of quality youth players that could make an impact going forward under Ten Hag and it could be the perfect opportunity to blood them in against Palace. Here are three that should get minutes on Sunday:

Alvaro Fernandez

Given Luke Shaw’s recent problems with injury and Alex Telles’ failure to truly show the ability many United fans expected him to have when he signed last season, there may be a chance for Fernandez to finally gain his debut against Palace. Fernandez won the U23 Player of the Season award for United and has looked impressive both offensively and defensively for the academy side and he could develop into a quality option if given minutes in the first team. Cristiano Ronaldo showed that he can still turn it on at the veteran age of 37 when he scored three times to lead Manchester United to a 3-2 home win over top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last month and he might need to turn it on again when Norwich City are the guests at Old Trafford just like what was obtainable with North London club Tottenham Hotspur in March.

With his three goals against Spurs, Ronaldo was able to take his tally to four goals in two games against the North London team. He had earlier scored one of the goals in a 3-0 away win when they met for the first time in the league towards the end of last year. His three goals in the win over Tottenham Hotspur ensured that Manchester United did the double over them. It also took his tally to 18 goals in all competitions with 12 of the goals coming in the Premier League. The other six goals were scored on the Champions League. (more…)

North London club Arsenal are in a keenly contested race to finish in fourth spot on the Premier League log at the end of this season alongside rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United.The Gunners have the advantage at the moment as they are in the much-coveted fourth spot with 51 points from 27 games.

Arsenal have one more than Manchester United with two games in hand, while they have three more points than North  London rivals Tottenham Hotspur with one game in hand. The Gunners also have three more points than London rivals West Ham United with two games in hand and five more points than Wolverhampton Wanderers with two games in hand. (more…)

Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is on course to make his return from injury against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend. He missed out on the Manchester Derby in the same competition last weekend as Manchester United were beaten 4-1 at the home of Manchester City.

Ronaldo missed the Manchester City game due to a hip injury and he was reported to have returned to his native Portugal for a brief warm weather break when it became obvious that he won’t make the Manchester Derby. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has since returned to Manchester and he’s expected to be part of the squad for the home clash with top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are in a battle for fourth spot alongside the London duo of West Ham United and Arsenal. (more…)
