Manchester United Thrashes RB Leipzig 5-0

Manchester United has continued their form in the Champions League 2020/21 as they have humiliated RB Leipzig 5-0 to widen their road towards the knockout stages. RB Leipzig is the semi-finalists of the 2019/20 season and started their Champions League campaign with incredible results. But at Old Trafford, all their calculations went wrong as Manchester united were unstoppable at their home ground. The players of the home team became ruthless and continued scoring goals on after one.

The coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to confirm 3 points as soon as possible and his boys did the same before the end of the first 45 minutes of play. The Red Devils stood like the red signals against the RB Leipzig players and forbade them to even enter into the scoring areas. The fans who were watching the match on their television sets, even couldn’t celebrate one goal and the other was coming in their way. The Hat-trick from Marcus Rashford dislodged the German team and they were just helpless in front of the sharp attacks of Manchester united.

Since then, the club’s fortunes have completely reversed with just five wins from 23 matches in all competitions and recent reports have claimed that Solskjaer could be sacked, should the Red Devils suffer a heavy defeat to Liverpool in the forthcoming league game. In response to this, Ferdinand has said that the board should have anticipated the current situation, given the performances of the squad have not been good enough.

Manchester United legend-turned-pundit Gary Neville has said that the Red Devils should concentrate on their prospects of finishing in the top four rather than seeking progress in the Champions League. United’s stunning nine-match unbeaten league run has recently propelled them to the fourth position in the league standings and Neville believes that should remain their main objective for the campaign.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville told that he does not want to be disrespectful to his former employers but he does not fancy them making the push for Champions League glory despite the recent upturn in form. He added that the top four should remain the main aim for the rest of the season while they stand a better chance of securing the FA Cup.
