UNITED EYEING THIRD WIN AGAINST Y/BOYS

Manchester United have been getting results since the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their manager last month and they can secure a third win ina row if they beat Young Boys at home in their final group game.

Former club striker Solskjaer was sacked as the Manchester United manager shortly afterthe demeaning 4-1 away loss to newly promoted team Watford. In his last game as the Manchester United boss, Solskjaer watched on as the Hornets were outclassed by a team who secured Premier League promotion at the start of this season. Watford are one of the  three newly promoted teams in the English top flight alongside London club Brentford and Norwich City. Josh King, IsmailaSarr, Joao Pedro and the impressiveEmmanuel Dennis found the back of the net for the Hornets, whileManchester United substitute Donny Van De Beek scored the only goal for the visiting team during the game.

POGBA OUT OF FRANCE GAMES

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been ruled out of the upcoming France games in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to injury. Pogba will miss games against Kazakhstan andFinland in Group D of the European qualifiers.

France are the defending champions as far as the World Cup tournament is concerned and they are on course to seal a place at the next edition in Qatar without Manchester United star Pogba when they take on Kazakhstan at home. A win over their latest World Cup qualifying opponents would be enough to book their place at next year’s World Cup tournament on Qatari soil. France became the defending champions in Russia three years ago when they defeated Croatia in the final to emerge victorious. Manchester United star Paul Pogba was one of the French players who scored in a 4-2 win over the Croatians.

SALAH ESTABLISHES GOLDEN BOOT LEAD

Egyptian national team hitman Mohamed Salah has been able to establish a three-goal lead at the top of the scoring chart in the Premier League after his three-goal performance against Manchester United at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday.

Salah started the latest round of Premier League games with a tally of seven goals and he was level with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy. The England international was the first in action in the bid to add to his tally but he could not do much in his time on the pitch. Vardy played just 45 minutes before being replaced by Zambian striker PatsonDaka due to injury. (more…)

UNITED FAVOURITES FOR EVERTON CLASH

Manchester United have the opportunity to bounce back at the first time of asking when they take on Merseyside giants Everton later this week. The clash between hosts Manchester United and Everton is the first game on the Premier League stage this weekend.


Solskjaer and his Manchester United players were one of three unbeaten teams in the English top flight this season until that run was halted by Aston Villa last week Saturday courtesy Courtney Hause who came into Dean Smith’s side for the ineligible Axel Tuanzebe. (more…)

BIG GUNS RETURN FOR MAN UNITED

The big guns will return for Manchester United ahead of their Premier League home clash with Aston Villa on Saturday lunchtime after they were rested for the Carabao Cup third round exit at the hands of London club West Ham United on Wednesday night.


Manchester United faced the Hammers in two separate competitions within the space of three days. The Red Devils secured a late 2-1 win over West Ham United in the Premier League courtesy the strike from England international Jesse Lingard who came off the bench to score the winning goal. The Hammersavenged the result by eliminating Manchester United from the third round of the Carabao Cup thanks to a 1-0 win away from home. (more…)

UNITED FINALLY COMPLETE VARANE TRANSFER FROM REAL MADRID

Although English Premier League giants Manchester United confirmed in a club statement that they had reached an agreement with Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid for the transfer of French defender Raphael Varane some weeks ago, the transfer was delayed by a couple of factors and the unveiling of the player took some time to arrange as well. Varane had to wait until this Saturday just before the game against Leeds United to be unveiled at Old Trafford in front of the fans and even though a lot of fans were furious with the club for delaying the defender’s unveiling for weeks, they finally accepted that the manner in which the player was unveiled was really worthy of being waited for.

Before the game between Manchester United and Leeds kicked off, Varane walked onto the Old Trafford pitch in a black suit holding a United jersey in his hands with his name and the number 19 boldly written on the back. He was greeted by the 75,000 fans that were in attendance as they gave him a standing ovation and he walked off the pitch some minutes after so the match could be played.

UNITED AGREE DEAL TO SIGN VARANE

Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed a deal in principle to sign French defender Raphael Varane. This is according to the statement from the club on Tuesday evening which stated that they have agreed a deal with Spanish team Real Madrid for the centre back. The transfer would be completed after the player has done his medicals and his salary has been agreed.

French international Varane is on course to become the third summer signing at Manchester United after Tom Heaton andJadon Sancho. England international goalkeeper Heaton returned to Old Trafford this summer on a free transfer after his Aston Villa contract ended this summer, while Manchester United paid around £73m to secure the transfer of Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

BARELLA, ONE OF UNITED MIDFIELD TARGETS

Inter Milan midfielder NicoloBarella is reportedly one of the midfield targets for Premier League club Manchester United. FC Inter News confirmed the Red Devils interest in Barella who won the Italian Serie A title with the Nerazzuri last season before helping Italy to emerge as Euro 2020 winners at the weekend.

Manchester United have focused on the signings of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in recent weeks. It has been revealed that attention will turn to the signing of a central midfielder completely after the club is done with the transfers of winger Sancho and defender Varane.

NO ARSENAL OFFER FOR UNITED MIDFIELDER

Arsenal are not in talks to sign Manchester United midfielder Donny Van de Beek according to transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist made this known via his official Twitter handle earlier on Monday. According to him, there are no talks between Arsenal and Manchester United for the player.

Italian journalist Romano revealed that the Gunners have not been in contact with either the player or his representatives. He went on to say that Arsenal will sign a new midfielder this summer in time for the new season but Manchester United player Van de Beek is not one of the options on their list of midfield targets.

UNITED ENDS LEAGUE CAMPAIGN WITH WIN

Manchester United ended the current Premier League campaign with a win at the expense of Wolves on the final day of the season at the weekend. The Red Devils saw off Wolves 2-1 with a second string team.

Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaermade a lot of changes to his team for the trip to the midlands to face Wolves with an eye on the Villarreal match in the Europa League final. Manchester United will face the Yellow Submarines in the final of Europe’s second tier competition in Gdansk on Wednesday night.
