Former club striker Solskjaer was sacked as the Manchester United manager shortly afterthe demeaning 4-1 away loss to newly promoted team Watford. In his last game as the Manchester United boss, Solskjaer watched on as the Hornets were outclassed by a team who secured Premier League promotion at the start of this season. Watford are one of theĀ  three newly promoted teams in the English top flight alongside London club Brentford and Norwich City. Josh King, IsmailaSarr, Joao Pedro and the impressiveEmmanuel Dennis found the back of the net for the Hornets, whileManchester United substitute Donny Van De Beek scored the only goal for the visiting team during the game.

Since the disappointing loss to Watford, Manchester United have gone three games unbeaten in the Premier League including two successive wins.

In the first game after the loss at the hands of the Hornets, Manchester United put up a strong defensive showing to earn a 1-1 draw at Chelsea. After a goalless first half, Manchester United took the lead through England international Jadon Sancho at the start of the second half after he capitalised on the mistake from Chelsea midfielder Jorginho. The Brazilian-born Italian national team star then redeemed himself with the equaliser from the penalty spot as the two teams settled for a point.

Manchester United secured their first win in the post-Solskjaer era after coming from a goal down to beat Arsenal 3-2 at home. The win over London team Arsenal was followed by the home victory over another London team, Crystal Palace. Brazil player Fred scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for the Red Devils at the expense of the Eagles.

Manchester United have won their last two games in the league and they can make it three wins in a row against Young Boys who won 2-1 in the reverse fixture.
