WOOTTON HEADS TO LEEDS

Manchester United defender Scott Wootton recently left the club for Leeds United in what will be described as a very brave move by the youngster. He is hoping that the move to the Championship club helps in his career because he is a stage where regular football is necessary to improve as a footballer. He felt that he was not going to get it at Manchester United this season. The likes of Phil Jones, Rafael Da Silva, and Chris Smalling are all ahead of him in the pecking order when it comes to taking advantage of any injuries to the pair of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.

It must be noted that Wootton was a former Liverpool youth team product before transferring to United. However, the pressure of moving between the two archrivals was extremely low back then because Wootton was largely an unknown quantity. Since then, he has made first team appearances for United and he is now hoping that Leeds fans accept him for making the move. The defender has signed a three-year contract with Leeds, who are aiming for promotion to the Premier league. (more…)
