Manchester United have been joined by AC Milan in the race for PSV Eindhoven forward and Holland international Cody Gakpo, according to Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News). The 23-year-old has been in fine form for the Eredivisie outfit this season. In the recent transfer window, the Red Devils were linked with a move for the winger. However, a deal did not end up materializing. Such have been Gakpo’s performances in the 2022/23 campaign that Spanish giants are keeping an eye on the forward. The 23-year-old is also expected to be on the plane to Qatar to play a part for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Gakpo has already hit double figures for both goals and assists this season. In 18 appearances in all competitions for PSV, the Holland international has found the back of the net 13 times and given 11 assists. United signed Antony from Ajax in the recent transfer window for £85 million. The Brazilian has had a quick start to life in Manchester. The 22-year-old scored in his first three Premier League appearances for the Red Devils. Antony scored on his debut against Arsenal in the 3-1 victory at Old Trafford. Since then, the winger has had his ups and downs. However, the Brazilian has great potential.

United are the only sides to have taken points away from the Gunners. Marcus Rashford was the other attacker to get on the scoresheet against Mikel Arteta’s team. The England international scored a brace. Rashford has been in fine form this season under Erik ten Hag. Similarly, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial look rejuvenated under the new gaffer. Gakpo is another exciting talent from the Eredivisie. Ten Hag has already gotten Lisandro Marinez and Antony, who have performed well, from the Dutch top flight. Will Gakpo be the next? Only time will tell.
